Abby
Co-Founder

A dancing fool since toddler times, Abby has been caught hamming it up on and off stage performing all kinds of dance including modern, jazz, ballet, tap, and musical theater. Abby began all things tribal in classes with FatChance and with Jill Parker, where she befriended Erin & Tanja. Abby was one of the first certified dancers in Ansuya's program. On her path to live, sleep, eat, breathe, and hiccup belly dance, Abby discovered the Suhaila Salimpour School of Dance, where she quickly certified Level 2. Although Abby has performed extensively, her main interest lies in choreography, dance history, and movement analysis. She holds a B.A. in both Dance and Performance Studies and Near Eastern Studies. As part of her honors research project, she created the “belly dance tree (version 2004 – update pending)” and wrote her thesis on fusion forms of belly dance in the United States. She is currently working on the creation of a belly dance army of superhero(ine)s to conquer the world using only finger cymbals, rhinestones and really good music (to establish world peace of course).

Cynthia Todd 2008-2010
“LAC is a really fun, talented, professional, genuinely nice group of women with similar goals and vision who just like dancing together.”
Cynthia has been hovering around the outskirts of the tribal dance scene since the earth cooled. In 2001, she founded Tribal Feat with some friends, became completely obsessed, and lost control of her life due to her addiction to dance. She went into hiding to find balance with this obsession and her very demanding life. She found her way back doing side projects with dancer friends. Collaborating with Meliza in such an unofficial capacity that, years later, they still do not have a name for their collaboration was the first step …. And now L'Anonyme is the next logical step!

  Meliza Wells 2008 – 2010
“These ladies are bad-ass and we love jammin’ together!”
Dancing since 1998, Meliza’s participation in the bellydance community spans the gamut from dance company member of Ultra Gypsy and Lapsus, to co-founder of Lotus and Bastet belly dance companies, to co-producer of the Tribal Throwdown event. She has studied with the top-names and also taught bellydance. Since 2008, Meliza’s enjoyed several collaborations with Tribal Feat co-founder Cynthia Todd.
